If your office is anything like mine, treats are everywhere. Whether it’s cake for someone’s birthday, girl scout cookies, cake for an anniversary, or just some cookies/brownies that someone decided to bake and bring it – temptation is there.

Even if temptation isn’t there, sometimes you just need that treat to hit the spot. Well rest assured, there is a healthy way to get this satisfaction – and these bars are it.

These are a great source of protein, and are made from all natural ingredients so there are no added chemicals/processing. You can add as much or as little of an ingredient as you like, experiment!


  • Whole grain rolled oats
  • Flax Seed
  • Pure Granola
  • All natural Almond Butter (Make sure the only ingredients are almonds, oil, organic cane sugar,¬†and sea salt)
  • All natural agave nectar (or organic honey)
  • Pure Cane Sugar
  • Olive Oil
  • Chocolate Chips

Step 1) Pour oats, flax seed, pure granola, and chocolate chips into a large bowl. Sprinkle with pure cane sugar

Step 2) Coat a sauce pan with slightly less than 1/4 cup olive oil, melt in almond butter and agave nectar and stir constantly until smooth

Step 3) Mix the almond butter mixture in with the bowl of dried ingredients

Step 4) In another sauce pan, ON LOW LOW LOW, or in a metal bowl over boiling water, melt the chocolate chips.

Step 5) Lay out your oat/almond butter mixture on a cookie sheet or 8×8 pan (depending on how thick you want them to be) and cover them with your melted chocolate

Step 6) Put the bars in the fridge for anywhere from an hour to overnight. Cut when it’s cool into bars, and keep them in little baggies in the fridge for an on the go snack or a 3 o’clock crash!
